A Note from me.....Tui Platter

Greetings!

It's been all go this year with the Wellington Art Show in April and, coming up quickly, the 2024 Kapiti Coast Art Trail. This annual event runs over two weekends - 2-3 November and 9-10 November.

I'll be opening my art studio again for these two weekends. I'm over the tracks in Paraparaumu at 121 Ruapehu Street. We are the very last house up the drive with limited parking so I would recommend that you park on the street and walk up so as to leave room for anyone with limited mobility.

We are open 10am - 4pm both weekends, and entry is free.

This year I've been trialling some new glazes and made a new range of items so I'm very keen to see what you think about the new work. As always, I've enjoyed making my tiles with Wellington images most of all.

All details are on my Exhibitions Page

See you soon ....

Vibrant New Zealand themed artwork

From her studio on the Kapiti Coast, Vinny Thompson designs and makes a range of pottery tiles, platters and bowls. Her work illustrates a number of contemporary New Zealand themes including Tuataracharacter villas and cottages, landmark buildings, and native New Zealand birds. The surface of each piece has been carved giving it a texture that is interesting to touch. Each piece is hand-glazed in vibrant colours.

Vinny also sculpts Tuatara from earthenware or stoneware clays, and these are suitable as outdoor artworks for display on the deck or in the garden.

Each individual piece is hand-crafted making each work a memorable and unique piece of New Zealand artwork.
